Creative Commitments
The hardest ones to make
We have all sorts of commitments in our life. Yet one of them secretly rises above the others in importance.
Commitments to friends and family can be challenging to maintain. Everyone is going on different paths in life and we do our best to meet them wherever we can.
For this reason, we often place a bit too much importance on them.
Yet in our Most Creative Work, there is no one to blame for things falling apart. There is just you, and whatever conflicts that are present inside to contend with.
Making appointments with ourselves is one of the hardest types of appointments to be on time for.
Yet failed attempts to show up for ourselves lead to a painful drip of water, leaking from the faucet in the back of our minds.
The Two Minute Task
When things have just about completely shut down on your projects, find the smallest action you can take and do that.
The thing that can be done not in 10 or 20 minutes, but in 2 minutes or less.
Open up some old files that you’ve worked on. Start a short draft of something that you really wanted to get done this month.
Often our aversion to the task is a form of making a mountain out of a molehill.
It’s really not that hard to cook a meal when all the ingredients are chopped up and ready to go.
So pull the vegetables out of the fridge and get going.

yep yep, on it - thank you
Thank you for the reminder. I have a timer cube for this very thing :)
