Everything is a Story
Record statements that you make to yourself as you move through the creative life.
Jot them down like a reporter taking stock of a situation unfolding.
Take note of what is true and what is pure fiction.
A friend recently told me that she is non-essential to the clinic she works at. I asked her for proof of that. She said the boss told it to her.
The boss likes her on the team because she alleviates his workload and helps him have work life balance.
I pushed further - if she was truly non-essential, then he would’ve let her go by now. No one hires other people just for fun.
On top of it, he even followed up the statement that she is non-essential by saying why she is essential.
A simple, off-hand comment about how someone is non-essential which is synonymous with replaceable.
Left unchecked can you imagine what that could do to someone’s self-esteem over months and years?
How it ripples around the way they deal with conflict with others?
Don’t let that bacteria into your emotional makeup.
Become teflon when you were velcro before.
I am arriving at that place where I can help people move through their inner struggles and move them into the past.

Start the new year off right by installing new programs into your mental operating system.
Progress in our Most Creative Work is a process and not an event.
Be kind to yourself as you take the time to rest.
But also consider that while everyone is caked in eggnog hangovers you can be taking massive action on the work that no one is asking you to do but that you feel compelled to share with the world.
