Stay accountable using checkins
I am tinkering around with ideas related to helping creative people stay on task and launch their boldest projects.
This experiment involves using Slack to report what you are going to be working on today.
The way it works: You get prompted every morning with three simple questions similar to how a tech company operates an agile meeting. Those questions shouldn’t take more than 2 minutes to answer tops.
Who could this appeal to?
People who have a lot of projects on the go for themselves, but can’t always find someone to be accountable to.
How do I join?
Head over to the Slack group and add yourself to the #checkin channel
What if I try it and it’s not for me?
You can exit the channel or leave the workspace at any time and you won’t get prompted anymore.
Do I have to use Slack already?
It’s not necessary to be an existing Slack user, but I imagine the first people who will try this are. I found that over a certain age, Discord just doesn’t work well because it’s not integrated into our daily lives the way Slack is.
Since this is an experiment, I will be glueing the rocket ship together as it flies. So it might take a few tweaks to get the prompts right.
Either way in this stage it will only cost you your time, but could pay off dividends in the investment.
