Make a Diary Entry
My friend recently told me that something that helped him was hearing Rick Rubin talk about how your work is simply a diary entry.
A diary entry is a low-stakes environment. It is made as a personal statement in collaboration with your inner self.
A diary entry might have things in it that you want to share with other people, but as a general rule of thumb, none of it will be shared with anyone.
You could even argue that a diary entry should be made with the option of completely destroying it after a certain amount of time.
That is what it means to take the pressure off of yourself when doing your Most Creative Work.
Note: This doesn’t just apply to creating things, but the act of practicing your art. Each time you sit down to practice your instrument or rehearse a passage, know that this is just a diary entry in the project to achieve mastery.

I love this!
