Returning Home

And being alert for flashes of inspiration

Creative work is about returning home to yourself.

It might be reconnecting with the body or finding bits of your soul.

On one hand it’s deep work, that which you have to enter into a certain state to begin creating.

On the other hand it’s spontaneous.

Like the time I dreamed about being inside of a crystal and I could hear a long soundscape accompanying it.

When I awoke all I wanted to do was bottle this vision up for other people to experience in virtual reality.

If you have a good idea, write it down or record a voice memo.

You have to be alert for these moments, but not too alert that you don’t let them flow. It’s an incredibly delicate balancing act.
