Art is Breathing
From the Book of Process
They say that fermented food is alive. Inside a bottle of kombucha are billions of active cultures at the time of bottling.
In just the same way, our most creative work is also alive.
We breathe in inspiration, and we breathe out something new based on that inspiration.
Even the word inspiration itself has the latin root spirare (breath), referring to the idea of “breathing into”.
Inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. That’s the fun of being alive and never knowing what will happen each day.
Our work is an ongoing experiment. Our ideas go into the petri dish, swimming around with the other ideas that have bubbled up to the surface.
It builds in complexity until one day you have a finished work to showcase to the world outside the lab.
If all else fails, just tap into the idea that this is a natural process, and we don’t have to overthink it too much.
